In 1966, with the 1st AIR CAV at Mang Yang Pass in South Vietnam, when we were winning. Pruett with a case of C Rations & a very cool Carl Gustav 9mm sub-machine gun. This photo was taken just off Highway 19 at Mang Yang Pass in South Vietnam's Central Highlands near Camp Radcliffe. In 1954, on this same spot, the French Groupe Mobile 100 fought a desperate battle but all 2000 were annihilated by the Viet Minh. The elite French force, composed of veterans from the Korean war, Legionaires and other solders who had actually taken a demotion in rank to even be a part of the proud armored unit, took the final fatal blow to French Colonialism.

Jim was also inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in October 2003.
